"Monomania" is a standalone single, showcasing a collaborative artistic effort between (us) Unaligned, and featuring explosive drumming work by Ragnar Sverrisson (Ophidian I).
"The lyrical inspiration for “Monomania” (vocalist Andrew explains) came from the still incurable Dementia’s disease, and watching it take its hold of my beloved grandmother. Seeing the declination transpire firsthand of someone I loved, terrified and devastated me, and inspired the idea for this song, and all the horrors I could never truly fathom of having to endure this literal nightmare disease. Monomania is defined as a toxic obsession or deep enthusiasm for something, and in this case, it is the very fixation of death itself. The end relief which i could only imagine anyone living the nightmare of Dementia would helplessly seek."
lyrics
Converging my nightmares into flesh,
Devoured my conscious I profess,
I never thought that I could be,
The one so abysmal and bleak,
Ingesting, molesting, the person I thought was beneath,
No resting beneath my eyes when I try to sleep,
With these dead eyes wide open,
My thoughts are never ending,
My life is descending into,
This fixation of death impending,
This void of these never ending lies,
Before monomania plants it’s seed of life,
Descending into obsessions,
Dementia entwining my mind,
Unreality besieged me,
Dysphoria of unrefined,
My nightmares hath become enfleshed,
Dissevering my consciousness and all that’s left,
This body lives only on breath,
The mind has already dispatched the soul to rest,
My body, my mind, failing me everyday in this forsaken labyrinth of dysfunction,
My body, my mind, failing me everyday in this forsaken labyrinth of this pure dysfunction,
Converging my nightmares into flesh,
Devoured my conscious I profess,
I never thought I could be,
The one so abysmal and bleak
Ingesting, molesting, the person I thought was beneath,
No resting beneath my eyes when I try to sleep,
With these dead eyes wide open,
My thoughts are never ending,
My life is descending into,
This fixation of death impending,
This void of these never ending lies,
These eyes define what our minds decipher as consciousness,
Without it our lives spiral out of reality,
This world has veils secretly hidden within the lines,
Remnants of what’s beyond thy flesh and death,
The void beyond,
Calling to me,

🇺🇸 US Technical Blackened Death Metal. A brutal album in every detail... from the cover art to the instrumental, with overwhelming drums and absurdly insane guitars at a technical peak alongside guttural vocals and impeccable lyrical parts. 𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐚 is an impressive musical work. ⛧ Fallenin77
Death metal/deathcore hybridization done correct! All the atmospheric passages and samples feel right in place, with great sound. Instrumentation doesn't lack as well, but the vocals could've been a little less upfront. 8.5/10 liltito
Channeling philosophical quandaries into cavernous death metal, the Australian trio turn modern power struggles into an aural advantage. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 13, 2022
